Soothe Sailing . . .

Last Saturday I headed out to what seems to be the new live music venue for people and pirates alike, The Jolly Roger. Two friends of mine agreed to play a few songs at a fairwell that night and used this as a chance to introduce their new musical project. I had seen them perform once before and was spellbound by the sheer compliment of sound that flooded my ears. On this particular night 'The Confederates' played three City and Colour songs and two original songs. I have become transfixed with Darren's voice and intensity when he sings, he has a voice to soothe and sweeten any situation, although it was difficult to distinguish the lyric content due to sound. The Performance was real and gripping, two guys on a stage playing their songs for themselves. You have to admit nothing stands out bolder than an act of love, clearly their love for what they do. I am lucky enough to be performing alongside them tonight at the B-Sides and Rarities show at Obviouzly Armchair. Check them out!
